On September 29 and 30, 2022, the XIV Congress of surgeons of the Lipetsk region "Topical issues of modern surgery" was successfully held in Lipetsk.
The congress was preceded by a lot of work by the entire medical community of the region, and first of all by the surgical service of the Regional Clinical Hospital, as the leading medical institution of the region. Methods were developed, system approaches to solving the tasks facing the surgical service were debugged. Work experience was accumulated, modern medical equipment was acquired, as an example of this - a 3D laparoscopic stand - the only one in our area. The last time the congress of surgeons of the region was held back in 2009.
The idea of resuming the tradition of holding the forum arose first among the surgeons of the regional hospital, and, again, due to tradition, it was planned to participate mainly surgeons of the region. However, immediately, during the preparation of the congress, which began in the spring of this year, there was a huge interest of the surgical departments of the Voronezh Medical University. In the future, the geography of the forum participants began to expand, surgeons from Moscow, Ryazan, Orel, Tambov and other cities of the European part of Russia actively wanted to take part in the congress. The preparation of such a representative surgical Forum received the warm support and special attention of the chief surgeons of Russia and the Central Federal District: A.Sh. Revishvili and V.P.Sazhin.
The congress was attended by about 200 specialists (surgeons, endoscopists, anesthesiologists, resuscitators, etc.), representatives of 19 subjects of the Russian Federation. The Health Department of the Lipetsk Region, the Vishnevsky Surgery Center, medical universities of Moscow, Voronezh, and Ryazan took an active part in the organization of the forum.
During the two days of the conference, the participants were able not only to hear the speeches of the country's leading specialists on the most modern approaches to treatment and organization of the treatment process, but also to see the operations carried out in the operating room of the regional hospital. The broadcast of the master class of operations in 3D mode from the LOCKB to the conference halls has become the hallmark of the status of the congress. Within the framework of the conference, a working meeting of surgeons of the Central Federal District was held under the leadership of V.P. Sazhin.. The goal is to reduce hospital and postoperative mortality by developing video laparoscopic technologies and increasing their accessibility to the population. As a result of the systematic measures carried out in the Lipetsk region, in our region it was possible to achieve a decrease in both general (hospital) and postoperative mortality. Surgical departments of hospitals of the second and third levels are equipped with video endoscopic stands, ultrasound equipment, it is possible to conduct RCT studies and operations under X-ray control. Doctors are trained to perform laparoscopic interventions, endoscopic and ultrasound examinations. Field teams of surgical profile have also been formed in the LOCB with the involvement of narrow specialists to provide practical assistance and training of surgeons, both locally in district hospitals and with the involvement of a workplace in a regional hospital. Over the past five years, the surgical department of the Lipetsk Regional Clinical Hospital has introduced organ-preserving and reconstructive plastic surgery on the pancreas and biliary system in patients with complicated forms of chronic pancreatitis. Laparoscopic interventions are performed with plastic surgery of the anterior abdominal wall with mesh endoprostheses, with hernias of various localization. The share of video laparoscopic interventions in cholelithiasis reaches 89%, which is one of the highest rates in Russia.
Over the past ten years, the Vishnevsky Surgery Center has been forming a rating of the level of surgical care among the subjects of Russia. Since 2019, the Lipetsk region has been among the top ten best regions of the country according to the state of surgical service. The surgical service of the region sets ambitious goals for itself.
