ONMC DEPARTMENT
The neurological department for the treatment of patients with acute cerebrovascular accidents has been opened since 02.07.2012 within the framework of the creation of the Regional Vascular Center. The head of the department since its inception and for 8 years is Kirillov Gennady Viktorovich. Currently, the department is headed by Alexander Yuryevich Shchegolev. The department employs highly qualified specialists trained in leading scientific centers in Moscow.

Main directions of work:
- specialized care in the acute period of stroke;
- systemic and selective thrombolytic therapy;
- rehabilitation in the most acute and acute period of stroke:
- classes of a multidisciplinary team consisting of:
- speech therapists, psychologist, psychiatrist, cardiologist, physiotherapist, exercise therapy doctors (early verticalization, kinesiotherapy, mechanotherapy on the Exart apparatus);
- physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage, botulinum therapy of spastic paresis are carried out.
Doctors of the department successfully work in close cooperation with X-ray angiosurgeons, neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons. Since the opening of the regional vascular center, patients with acute strokes have been hospitalized in accordance with the severity of the condition in the center's subdivisions according to the “green corridor” principle (without delay at the admission department level) and receive modern and timely specialized care. Since 2012 In the treatment of patients with ischemic stroke, thrombolytic therapy is successfully carried out, which makes it possible to restore blood flow through the vessel feeding the brain and significantly reduce the area of brain damage.
One of the leading directions in the treatment of patients with stroke is early rehabilitation. The effectiveness of rehabilitation is achieved thanks to the efficient functioning of the multidisciplinary team. The measures taken allow prescribing up to 50% of patients from the total number of treated patients who are independent of everyday life (on the Rankin scale no more than 2 points).
