Department of urology
The urology department was founded in 1959. At the origins of the organization of the urological service of the Lipetsk region were urologists who worked, and then heads the urology department: Volobuev B.G., Aleksandrov Yu.K., Sitnikov I.M. Until 2020, the department was successfully headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences. Larin V.V. At the moment, the department is headed by Oleg Ivanovich Putilin.
In connection with the introduction, over the past 15 years, of high-tech endourological interventions, classical (open) operations for kidney stones and stones in the ureter have completely disappeared from everyday practice.
For the treatment of kidney stones (including coral stones) and ureteral stones, percutaneous puncture methods of crushing and removing calculi are widely used.
This method of treatment has been successfully and for a long time practiced by the head. dep. Putilin O.I. and leading urologist Kolesnikov O.G.
Also, for the treatment of urolithiasis, in our department, distance lithotripsy is actively performed.
Over the past five years, low-trauma sling operations for stress urinary incontinence in women have been introduced into everyday practice, which has made it possible to largely abandon ineffective drug treatment. The efficiency of these operations is 95 - 100%. These operations are carried out in our department by doctors: Uryupina D.I. and Sitnikov R.I.
In the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate adenoma), 80% of patients are operated on using a low-traumatic endourological operation - transurethral resection of the prostate. This method of surgical treatment is perfectly mastered by Dr. med. Larin V.V. and Sivakov V.S.
The department employs highly qualified medical and nursing staff, allowing to provide highly qualified assistance to 2000 urological patients throughout the year.
