Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics
The traumatology department was organized among the departments during the organization of the Lipetsk regional hospital in 1954. Initially, the department had 30 beds. Currently, the department has 40 beds, of which 15 are orthopedic and 25 are traumatological.
The department provides emergency and planned consultative assistance to the population of the region, is on duty around the clock to provide urgent assistance. The department performs various types of osteosynthesis, including the use of implants of the AO system. In the department, compression-distraction osteosynthesis according to G.A. Ilizarov is widely used, operations are performed to replace defects in long tubular bones in pseudoarthrosis, osteosynthesis with rod devices and blocking rods. Surgical methods of treatment are used for fractures of the pelvic bones.
The department performs operations of total cement and cementless hip arthroplasty with imported endoprostheses, unipolar hip arthroplasty for hip fractures in elderly and senile people, as well as knee arthroplasty.
Arthroscopic methods of diagnosis and treatment are used for injuries and diseases of the knee joint. Over 700 surgical interventions are performed in the department per year.
In the rehabilitation of patients, a full range of rehabilitation treatment is used:
- physiotherapy;
- LFC;
- massage;
- GBO.
The consultative clinic has a daily appointment.
