Gynecological department
The gynecological department of the GUZ LOKB was established in 1954 since the founding of the regional hospital. The first head of the department was O.K. Gudkova. Levchenko K.K., Bala A.M., Malykhin P.N., Karochenko N.S. played a great role in the formation and development of the gynecological service. Currently, the department is designed to provide specialized and high-tech medical care in operative gynecology to residents of the Lipetsk region and Lipetsk, both in a planned and emergency mode. Currently, the department is headed by Artyom Yuryevich Meshkov.
In the gynecological department, women from the districts of the Lipetsk region are treated, who mainly need surgical treatment. All cases, difficult in the therapeutic and diagnostic terms, from the districts of the region are sent to the gynecology of the Regional Clinical Hospital, including the cases of purulent-inflammatory tumors that have become so frequent recently, which often require not only surgical treatment followed by rehabilitation, but also simultaneous operations.
Endoscopic operations have been introduced and are successfully applied. Currently, these minimally invasive operations are used for infertility, for ectopic pregnancy, for inflammatory tumors, for ovarian cysts, as well as for other nosologies.
Despite the fact that the department performs a large number of volumetric operations (extirpation of the uterus, amputation of the uterus), the work of the department is mainly aimed at preserving the woman's reproductive potential (conservative operations on the uterus, ovaries and tubes).
In the gynecological department of LOCB, methods of efferent therapy, hyperbaric oxygenation, physiotherapy are widely used, the capabilities of clinical, bacteriological and immunological laboratories are used.
