Cardiology department
The department was organized in 1966. The first head of the department was Nina Stepanovna Shevalina. Since 1982 Until 2020, the department was headed by Valentina Ivanovna Kashirskikh, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation. The doctors of the department are highly professional specialists, they constantly improve their qualifications, take part in the work of Russian and international congresses, conferences and congresses. Now the head of the department is Anton Mikhailovich Syrodoev.
The department is intended to provide specialized cardiological care to the population of the Lipetsk region using all the available diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities of a multidisciplinary hospital. Assistance is provided to patients with the following pathology: - chronic form of ischemic heart disease in case of aggravation of its course or requiring interventional methods of diagnosis and treatment, arterial hypertension (symptomatic, refractory arterial hypertension of 2-3 tbsp., Acute myocarditis and chronic myocarditis in the period of exacerbation ; cardiomyopathy, heart rhythm and conduction disturbances; chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation, pericarditis.
For a comprehensive examination of patients, diagnostic methods are used: monitoring of ECG and blood pressure, stress tests (treadmill, VEM) to detect latent coronary insufficiency, a wide range of laboratory diagnostics, echocardiography, ultrasonography, CDC, angiographic research methods, computed tomography, including contrasting coronary arteries, MRI tomography, radioisotope examination methods, including stress myocardial scintigraphy. Introduced transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, non-invasive electrophysiological examination of the heart.
The department widely uses high-tech methods of diagnostics and treatment of coronary artery disease - diagnostic coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty and stenting of coronary arteries, implantation of a pacemaker for complex and life-threatening rhythm disturbances. Patients are being selected to cardiac surgery centers for surgical treatment.
