GUZ "Lipetsk Regional Clinical Hospital" was founded in 1954 by Decision No. 538 of the Executive Committee of the Lipetsk Regional Council of Working People's Deputies dated July 24, 1954 "On the organization of regional medical institutions."

GUZ "Lipetsk Regional Clinical Hospital" was established in 1954 by Decision No. 538 of the Executive Committee of the Lipetsk Regional Council of Deputies. From the first days, the hospital began to perform organizational and methodological functions of the formation of health care in the Lipetsk region. One of the main tasks was the work on professional development and training of medical personnel.

The hospital provides specialized, including high-tech, medical care to the population of the city and region using the most modern medical technologies. The level of the treatment and diagnostic process is rightfully considered one of the best in the region. Scientific and practical work of the hospital staff is recognized and well-deserved authority of colleagues not only in Russia, but also abroad. The medical institution is the clinical base of the Department of Surgery of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education of the Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko. The medical and diagnostic process at the State Medical Institution "LOCB" is multifaceted. The hospital consists of 57 structural subdivisions, 38 specialized inpatient departments. The hospital is equipped with modern medical and diagnostic equipment of an expert class: high-quality ultrasound equipment, modern digital X-ray devices, two computer (64 and 128 slice) and two magnetic resonance tomographs, three X-ray angiosurgical complexes, mammography, electroneuromyograph, ultrasonogastroscope, and osterometers ., which allows for early high-precision diagnosis of damage and pathological changes in organs and systems. The X-ray angiosurgical complex is indispensable in the diagnosis and pathogenetic treatment of various vascular catastrophes, including acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebrovascular accident.

Since July 2, 2012, the Regional Vascular Center has been deployed on the basis of the hospital, within which two new departments have been opened: a neurological department for patients with acute cerebrovascular accident and a cardiological department for patients with acute myocardial infarction. The fastest delivery of patients was organized for timely treatment, including systemic thrombolysis, as well as surgical interventions in this category of patients. A round-the-clock duty of endovascular surgeons to provide assistance to patients with vascular accidents has been debugged. Over the past ten years, the number of X-ray surgeries has increased by 386%, and the number of selective coronary angiography has increased 10 times and the number of stenting of coronary arteries has increased more than 15 times. Our successes were noted by the chief cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, I.E. Chazova. at the specialized commission on cardiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in Moscow in 2017. According to the monitoring results of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Lipetsk Region is among the top ten regions for performing surgical interventions for patients with heart attacks. Thanks to modern high-tech treatment, the mortality rate from myocardial infarction is almost 2 times lower than the national average. In addition, due to timely hospitalization, thanks to the introduction of the latest technologies and the use of modern rehabilitation methods, more than 60% of patients with strokes are discharged from the hospital independently in everyday life.

The surgical service of the institution is represented by ten specialized departments. More than 25,000 patients are treated in the LOCB hospital annually, about 13,000 operations are performed, including more than 2,000 minimally invasive ones. A global trend has become the development of minimally invasive interventions that give a full-fledged end result. In the practice of the surgical service of the Lipetsk Regional Clinical Hospital, this is a combination of laparoscopic technologies with intraluminal endoscopic surgery. In recent years, methods of complex operations on the liver, bile ducts and pancreas have been developed and successfully applied. Such operations have become possible with the use of ultrasonic and water-jet scalpels, improved endoscopic surgical techniques and equipment to reduce blood loss during surgery. Puncture methods of treatment under the control of ultrasound navigation are widely used. Traumatologists implant endoprostheses to replace the affected knee and hip joints. In the urological department of the hospital, both remote and contact crushing of calculi of the urinary system is carried out by all possible methods of stone crushing. When using a modern lithotripter, non-surgical crushing of calculi is performed with a high percentage (up to 90%) of the successful final result of the intervention. New operating complexes have improved the quality of operational assistance and expanded its capabilities. The use of high-tech endovideosurgical methods of treating urological, gynecological, and otorhinolaryngological pathologies is expanding. Coloproctologists treat such complex diseases as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, colon tumors, including with the use of genetically engineered drugs. We mastered the technique of transanal endomicrosurgical interventions for rectal tumors.

LOCB is a center for the provision of specialized care for critically ill neurosurgical profile. The acquisition of a modern neurosurgical complex - an operating microscope, a neuronavigation system, precision technology - made it possible to significantly expand the possibilities of surgical treatment, operate on deep brain structures, as well as carry out endoscopic treatment of herniated intervertebral discs, traumatic spinal injuries at all levels with positive treatment results. Complex interventions on the brain and spinal cord for tumors and vascular diseases have become firmly established in the practice of the neurosurgical department, and the presence of a dedicated neuroresuscitation department provided postoperative nursing of patients using the method of early neurorehabilitation.

Do not lag behind, in terms of the provision of high-tech medical care, and hospital departments of a therapeutic profile. More than 300 pacemakers are implanted in patients with life-threatening arrhythmias every year. Endocrinologists perform the installation of insulin pumps, with the ability to monitor the level of glycemia, in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. A technique that significantly improves the quality of life of people with diabetes.

A nephrodialysis center, one of the most equipped centers in our region, which performs all types of renal replacement therapy, operates on the basis of the LOCB. The clinical application of peritoneal dialysis was mastered, which made it possible to significantly expand the contingent of patients with end-stage chronic renal failure receiving renal replacement therapy.

Currently, the hospital employs a friendly and close-knit team of more than 1,500 employees, including about 300 doctors and about 700 paramedical workers. The professional level of medical specialists is highly appreciated.
